Ron Kern, Golf Course Architect

Ron KernRon is a graduate of Purdue University with a B.S.C.E. degree earned in 1980. He has been playing golf with me since he was 4 years old, and was first five All State as a senior on the Carmel High School golf team in 1976. Golf has always been a part of his life, and with his previous background in engineering, is well schooled in both the technical and practical aspects of golf course architecture.

Ron worked with me for 5 years before striking out on his own, and has since proven his ability to design outstanding courses such as Purgatory and West Chase, and also to develop very good courses on minimal budgets.

Pictures of his courses shown here demonstrate his artistic ability; these only give a hint of the strategy behind each hole and the "fit" of the holes to the land.

Please visit Ron's web site for a more in-depth look at his work, and, if you get the chance, by all means play one of his courses.
